Tater Tot Casserole [KBD Teens & 20-Somethings]

Written by chanie on March 7th, 2011

This probably doesn’t come as a surprise, but I love cookbooks. Every time a new one comes out, I have to have it, hot off the press. When the new Kosher by Design Teens & 20-Somethings came out, I was first in line to get one. Even though I am far from a teen, and having just turned thirty, no longer a 20-something :( , I still reserve the right to enjoy every one of the recipes! Susie Fishbeins latest cookbook is chock-full of fun and delicious recipes. I can’t wait to try more of them. For now,  I recently made the “Tater Tot Casserole”. It takes literally minutes to make, and is a one-dish meal (although more of a kids meal to be honest, it’s not that filling, you’ll need to make an additional side for the adults). The last 3 minutes call for broiling the casserole, and having a hectic day at the time, (which is why I chose this easy recipe to begin with), I did not hear the oven beeping and I wound up burning it :( (that explains the lack of an “after” picture).  My point of all this? Well first of all, even bloggers burn their food. But more importantly, even with the burnt top, it was still really good! The meat has lots of flavor, and with the spicy brown mustard and tater tots, topped off with a squirt of ketchup, it’s a fun and easy dish your kids will really enjoy. Teens and 20 (even 30!) – somethings too.

  1. hey chanie so funny you posted about this. I have the cookbook and wondered what tater tots were. Now i see youre company bag, they sell it in shoprite. Will def. try it.

  2. Happy Belated Birthday. And just so you feel better, you aren’t the only blogger to burn things. One time I lit a marshmallow topped pan of brownies on fire. Twice. In one night.
